Its richness in polyphenols and flavonoids provides anti-oxidant and anti-ageing activity thanks to the content of enzymes with elasticising activities it is often used in firming and toning products.
Description
Honey is the sugary secretion produced by bees that comes from the processing of nectar from flowers. The bees store the honey in the cells of the honeycomb, then it is extracted through a centrifugal process and left to decant in special containers before being collected in jars. It is a transparent viscous liquid somewhere between amber and brown in colour and consists mainly of sugars, enzymes, vitamins, oligominerals and substances that can help the growth processes.

Honey was also appreciated in ancient Egypt: the earliest records of bee-keepers that moved along the Nile with their own hives to follow the flowering of plants date back four thousand years.
