Thanks to its content in active substances, including flavonoids, (e.g.: luteolin and quercetin), this extract is particularly suitable for mature skins, due to its capacity to protect cellular DNA and cells from damage to UV rays and due to its anti-inflammatory, anti-age and antioxidant actions.
Description
A shrub belonging to the Loganiaceae family, originating from China and subsequently spread throughout Europe, where it was initially used as an ornamental plant. The plant has very long stems and dark green lanceolate leaves with a grey underside. The flowers, which are present from the beginning of summer to the beginning of autumn, are tubular and grouped into large ears at the tip of the stems.
Notes
The name “butterfly bush” comes from the characteristics of the flowers which, being very colourful (pink, white or purple) and scented, attract lots of species of butterflies.
