Description
The Indian Gooseberry or Amla is a small to medium size plant that belongs to the family of Euphorbiacee and is native from India and tropical and sub-tropical areas of South East Asia like China and Indonesia. The plant is characterized by a deciduous smooth grey/green bark with oblong leaves and yellow or pink spherical fruits from which the extract is obtained.

The Emblica Officinalis (also known as Amla) has been used for centuries in the traditional Chinese, Tibetan and Ayurvedic medicine thanks to its anti-inflammatory, adaptogen and hypocholesterolemic properties.
