The juice extracted from bamboo leaves is extremely rich in amino acids, vitamins and mineral salts, particularly silica. It has an astringent and refreshing action which is recommended for greasy skins or skins with a tendency to develop acne. It supplies a very large amount of minerals, exercising a toning and remineralising action.
Description
Bamboo is a name given collectively to all the species of Bambusoides (over 700), belonging to the Gramineae family, originating from the humid and tropical regions of Asia. They are plants with woody stems and a single culm, reaching a height of up to 25 m, which form large evergreen bushes. The stem is hollow and can reach a diameter of up to 25 cm. The leaves are oblong, sharp and light coloured.

Plants belonging to the bamboo family are well-known for their fast growth, up to 41 cm a day, and for their height, up to 40 m. Bamboo has a variety of uses: the shoots are used in many Chinese dishes, the leaves cover the roofs of huts and the canes are used to build huts, furniture and vases, as well as to carry water.
