The extract is obtained from the Leontopodium alpinum. It is known for its antioxidant and anti-free radical action, it protects collagen and hyaluronic acid for a more elasticized skin; amino acids and polysaccharides have hydrating and nourishing effect.
Description
Perennial plant that belongs to the family of Asteracee it can be up to 30 cm tall and is completely covered by white hairs that help prevent moisture loss. It has lance shaped basal leaves in rosettes from which flower stems grow. Inflorescences are flower heads made of yellow clustered florets surrounded by 9 to 15 white, lance shaped bracts in a star formation.
Notes
Known as the queen of mountain flowers because it grows in the highest places on the Alps (up to over 3000 m. of altitude). In the Tyrolese medicine it is used for its astringent properties, as a remedy for cough and to soothe rheumatic pain. It is considered a rare species since it was indiscriminately collected in the past.
