anti-wrinkle, antioxidant. The organic extract of alpine rose protects the skin from the damages caused by ageing and by oxidative stress. Free radicals irreversibly oxidise protein and cell membranes, leading to a reduction in the activity of these components, which is manifested in the most common signs of ageing. Alpine rose extract prevents cell oxidisation and its activity has been proven by the tests performed: the appearance of the skin improves and looks more supple, compact and smooth.
Description
The extract is obtained from the leaves of the Rhododendron ferrugineum or alpine rose, an evergreen plant belonging to the Ericaceae family, originating from the Swiss Alps and found in the Pyrenees and Apennines. Characterised by beautiful pink flowers, it grows in acid soils poor in nutrients, at altitudes above 2000 metres. This has induced it to develop strategies to survive the adverse weather conditions. The extract is particularly rich in flavonoids, taxifolin, chlorogenic acid, catechin and epicatechin and has a marked antioxidant action.
Notes
the alpine rose is a protected plant. This extract is not obtained from wild plants but from controlled organic cultivations in the areas of origin, run by specialised farmers.
