HYALURONIC ACID
Sodium hyaluronate
Cosmetic function
moisturising, film-coating. Water is of vital importance for all physical, mechanical, functional and enzymatic activities of the horny layer. Thanks to its excellent capacity to bind and trap water, hyaluronic acid acts as a direct moisturiser, conveying water to the horny layer, and as an indirect moisturiser, forming a film which prevents evaporation. The skin appears immediately more hydrated and significantly maintains this level of hydration for 24 hours.
Description
hyaluronic acid is a molecule with high molecular weight. It is produced biotechnologically, using the fermentations processes typical of the production of vinegar, without using animal sources. It is one of the main components of the extracellular matrix in the derma: trapped inside the tiny spaces between collagen and elastin fibres, it exercises gentle pressure towards the epidermis, known as turgidity, supporting and sustaining the derma. The concentration of hyaluronic acid reaches its maximum peak during youth, gradually diminishing and causing dehydration and dryness, making the skin more susceptible to the damages caused by skin ageing.
